We love our getaways over at Backwoods while at the cabin.
Me and my family have been staying there for over 30 years and fishing, eating great food and renting a cabin for a week never got old. Amber, the co owner of backwoods, is the best bartender friend and "family" you will ever have. When you walk into the bar the vibe is unprecedented in a way you've never seen before. Play pool, eat great food, and have the beat time of you life and make sure you order there great world famous bloody Mary's and Shirley temples.
We were there on the 3rd of July. They were extremely busy but they had a great staff that was really hustling. The deck was really great for lunch and the food was very good. It was worth the wait and we were not in any hurry. I hadn't been there in years and the owners now have really improved the place.
Great spot to stop in while fishing. You can take a small boat and dock in right at the restaurant from the lake if you're staying at the nearby campgrounds. Our waitress was super nice. Their appetizers are delicious (try the deep fried cheese curds and mushrooms!) I got the fish sandwich and was very happy with it and the home-cooked chips. My company told me the burgers and shrimp plate are also really good. An awesome spot if you want a simple, tasty, rustic dining experience, this is the place!
